From Downton to Gatsby: Jewelry and Fashion from 1890 to 1929

Andrew Prince considers fashion and jewelry as two parts of one whole. He should know. The renowned jewelry expert has created costume jewelry and tiaras for such period dramas as The Young Victoria and the hit PBS series Downton Abbey. (You can see and get a feel for some of the pieces worn on Downton Abbey during the Trunk Show.)

During this talk, he’ll illustrate the elements that shaped this glittering period. Learn of social, cultural and political events, connections between the great jewelers and couture houses—and the many splendid characters that moved in the turn of the century milieu.

About the Speaker

Andrew Prince creates costume jewelry using only the finest stones, many of which are cut specifically to compliment his unique designs. He’s been privately commissioned to design custom pieces for celebrities and royalty. His work has also been featured on film and television, as well as in international fashion magazines and advertisements. After his lecture, Andrew will showcase a selection of his jewelry inspired by the “Downton Abbey Series” including tiaras, brooches, earrings, and necklaces. See the pieces worn on screen by the main cast, and purchase other glamorous accesories from the Museum Shop.
