Paris 1900: The City of LightsEnjoy spring evenings at Hillwood with documentaries that highlight French history and culture at the turn of the century! Tour Hillwood’s mansion, gardens, greenhouse, special exhibition Marjorie Merriweather Post's Paris at Hillwood, eat a delicious meal at Merriweather Café, and enjoy a film. This evening’s featured documentary is Paris 1900: The City of Lights, directed by Hugues Nancy and produced by CPB Films. Please note that this film does not include closed captions. The entirety of the film is in English.

Reservations are required for a seated dinner at the Merriweather Café between 5:30 and 6:45 p.m. Book your reservation for dinner on our website, here! Take a look at the menu in advance, here.

ABOUT THE FILM

Journey back in time to La Belle Epoque (1871-1914), with incredible restored and colorized footage capturing the magic and euphoria of The City of Light. Thanks to incredible archives restored and fully colorized, this film presents a previously unseen journey through time and space. They captured magical moments of lightness and euphoria, the marvels of scientific and aesthetic invention: the crowning glory of democracy.
