Herb Garden Container Workshop

Take a short walk and learn about Hillwood’s kitchen garden before building your own luscious herb garden. This container garden will require a sunny location with a minimum of four to six hours of sun.

Alone, or paired with a hanging basket from the workshops on May 5 and container garden from the workshops on May 12, you’ll have blooms to savor all season.

All supplies are included. Latex gloves are available, but you are welcome to bring your own gardening gloves if you wish. These containers are low and flat on the bottom to ease transportation, but an old blanket or two in your trunk provides a way to help cradle your project during the drive home and makes for easy clean up.

Payment is required in advance due to materials fees, and is non-refundable. This program is limited to twelve people. In the unlikely event that this workshop has fewer than four people registered, it may be cancelled. If this occurs, participants may choose to participate in another session.

About the Instructor

Marshall Paquin, senior gardener, is an International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist.  He has a master’s degree in Environmental Management from the University Maryland University College and a bachelor’s degree in Urban Forestry from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.  He has been with Hillwood for eight years, and during that time has been involved with the maintenance, construction, and design of the putting green and lower/upper gate entrances. He also strives to keep Hillwood’s trees as beautiful as possible by working with contractors to perform maintenance that meets or exceeds arboricultural standards. Before coming to Hillwood, Marshall was the owner of a tree care and landscape company for seven years.
