Facilities Tech

With over 100,000 visitors a year, Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens is adding a Facilities Tech to our team. The Facilities Tech will help our Facilities Team keep Hillwood’s 24-acre campus of 12 buildings up the high standards of our founder, Marjorie Merriweather Post. In this role, the Facilities Tech will be assisting skilled team members with electrical and plumbing work. This includes cleaning chill water strainers, assisting with cleaning the chill water filters, helping to clean gutters, drain cleaning around campus, and submerging pumps to ensure manholes are free of debris. 

Working on a diverse team with many different communication styles, the Facilities Tech will be a key part of assisting the team on special projects like painting and ensuring the areas around air handlers are free of debris. Additionally, this role will work with the entire Facilities Team to set up for major events on campus. 

About You
To be successful in this role, you will need at least one year of electrical and plumping experience. You have worked with EZ Flush and understand how to services and replace them. You have worked on the vacuum breaker and spud gasket of a Sloan valve. 

You take initiative and work autonomously with minimal oversight. You have exhibited a solutions-focused approach in your prior experience working with different team members on a variety of Facility issues.  

You understand the only way to be successful in Facilities work is to communicate. You are able to raise a hand or pull in other team members when the project you are working on needs others to be completed within the designated time frame.  

All Hillwood staff have some level of visitor interactions, applicants should have a customer service mindset.
