The Development of Wristwatches in the 20th Century And How To Collect Them

This is the second program in the On Time: Giving Form to the Fleeting exhibition lecture series.

Watches are now a key fashion accessory and have reached into the tens of millions of dollars at auction. This talk will explore the history of the wristwatch as well as how to collect them.

This lecture will be presented in the theater in the Ellen MacNeille Charles Visitor Center and will be livestreamed via Zoom. Visitors can submit questions for the speaker from any location.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Eric founded Wind Vintage, a company he started in 2017 that is dedicated to offering exceptional watches for sale and providing advisory services to top collectors around the world. Eric previously served as Vice President, Senior Specialist of Watches for Christie's. Eric holds an M.B.A. from the University of Oxford and a B.S. in Foreign Service cum laude in International Politics from Georgetown University. Eric is married to Christine Wind and they have a son, two daughters, and a puppy. They live in Palm Beach, Florida.
