Membership Increase FAQ
Beginning April 1, 2025, membership pricing at the will increase for the first time in seven years. The individual level will shift to $75 and the Dual/Family level will shift to $100.
This adjustment reflects our commitment to providing exceptional experiences while ensuring Hillwood remains accessible to all. The increase supports the continued quality of our exhibitions gardens, programs, and events, while upholding Marjorie Merriweather Post's vision of Hillwood as a place for everyone. Please read below for answers to some common questions.
Why is Hillwood increasing membership rates?
Hillwood is increasing membership pricing at the two lowest levels. Membership pricing has remained the same for seven years, despite steadily rising operational costs. The increase will help ensure Hillwood's financial stability while reflecting our commitment to providing exceptional experiences. It will also assist with keeping Hillwood accessible for all.
Your increased support will help us preserve Marjorie Merriweather Post's legacy, maintain our world-class collection and gardens, enable new programs and exhibitions, and ensure Hillwood remains a special place that can thrive and inspire throughout the year.
When will the new membership prices take effect?
For new members, these membership prices will be effective beginning April 1, 2025. Existing members have the opportunity to renew at existing rates through April 30, 2025, and new rates will be effective beginning May 1, 2025. Please see more below.
Is there an opportunity to renew at current rates before the increase?
Yes! We are offering an Early Renewal Promotion, allowing current members to renew at existing rates for a limited time before the new prices take effect. This promotion is valid until April 30, 2025.
Members are welcome to renew now, regardless of expiration date, to receive the current rate. This will simply extend your membership for another year, beginning another cycle as soon as your current one ends. For example, if your current membership cycle expires on July 31, 2025, you are welcome to renew early, ensuring you pay $60 now rather than $75 in July. Your new cycle will then begin on August 1, 2025.
What membership levels will be affected?
The cost increase will affect Individual and Dual/Family membership levels. The Individual level is shifting from $60 to $75, and the Dual/Family level is shifting from $85 to $100.
How much will memberships cost beginning April 1, 2025?

Dual/Family: $100 | Friendship Circle: $1,000 |
Contributor: $150 | Director's Circle: $2,500 |
Patron: $250 | President's Circle: $5,000 |
Why is the Family membership being renamed Dual/Family membership?
We are renaming the Family membership level to Dual/Family to better represent our diverse community. Many of our wonderful members choose to share a membership at this level with a friend or family member who does not live in their household. This change will reflect that and aims to include various family structures. The level remains the same as before, offering benefits for two adults. You may purchase a Dual/Family membership with anyone you would like!
