This painting shows a woodland scene. There is a brick farmhouse in the center by a clump of trees and a sheep barn to the right. There are some fallen trees and rocks at lower right. In the distance is a glimpse of hills and flying birds in the sky which has rosy sunset clouds. A dirt road winds from the mid-foreground to the left distance. At the left there is a figure of a woman in a red skirt and white tunic with two small children standing to greet a man returning with a flock of sheep.
