Portrait of a young girl in half-length. Her head is in profile to the right, with her body turned three-quarters forward. Her hands are raised upwards with the palm close together, as if ready to catch a ball. Her brown hair is pulled back behind ears and fastened at the back of her head with a bow. She wears a blue dress with long sleeves, over which she wears a lacy shawl which is tied in front in a knot. She is looking at a butterfly which is at the upper right of the painting. The background is dark.
