About this object

In carved gilt wood; fitted glass top lifts up. Round corners contain rosettes. Carved frieze is a series of rectangular patterns. On each long side a round medallion containing romping putti. Three dimensional swags on all four sides. Rouind tapered swirl fluted legs, separated near floor by a stretcher which is shaped like two crossed archery bows, each entwined by a card. On the crossing is a wreath of roses carved in the round and standing vertically; within it are two birds, wings outstretched. Lined in dull yellow velvet.
