About this object

The statuette represents Father Time. He is shown as a bearded old man holding a scythe in his left hand. He is nude except for a flowing dark brown drapery that covers his left shoulder, goes across his back and the end is held in his right hand. At his feet is a kneeling cupid with wings on its back. The cupid holds a fallen fluted gray hourglass with wings. They stand on a white base decorated with rococo scrolls touched with gold and flower clusters in relief.
