About this object
In the center of each plate on a white ground is a South American bird standing on a perch composed of seed pods, leaf scrolls and other formal motifs. Each encloses a medallion on which is written the name of the bird. A gold band encircles the inner edge of the rim which is painted with a vine composed of plants from each bird's habitat. The bird on this plate is described as 'Fourmilier Palikour'.
