About this object

This two-toned, sleeveless cocktail dress is worn with a matching, hip length jacket with three quarter length sleeves. The pale blue dress is cut in a modified princess line with a center front seam and notched detail at the scoop neckline. Shaping at the waist is created by inverted box pleats at front and back. An 11-1/2 inch band of pink silk satin is applied at the hem. White bugle beads are applied with blue thread in an overall vine pattern extending 14 inches from the hem. The beaded pattern is accented by larger, faceted beads of clear plastic. The garment is backed with white cotton and lined with pink silk acetate. A nylon zipper fastens the garment at center back. The jacket is primarily pink with a 7-1/2 inch blue band at the hem. The beading is repeated in the upper portion, extending slightly into the blue band. A wide flat collar of white fur is backed with pink satin. The jacket closes at center front with three covered, beaded buttons and bound buttonholes. The jacket is lined in blue duchess satin.
