About this object

.2 is of a peasant man. He is carved in ivory with his clothes set with cabochon garnets. He wears knickers, a long sleeved coat with a ruff around the neck, long socks and clogs on his feet. His hat is enameled green. He has a pannier on his back in silver and brown enamel with green, red enamel for fruits and leaves in the pannier. He carries a silver flower basket in his left hand which is filled with fruits made in semi-precious stones and leaves in green enamel. He holds a silver crook in his right hand which he uses as a staff. He stands on a silver rectangular base with lapis lazuli on the top and with various bow and leaf motifs on the sides in different colored enamel.
