The box is a trunk made in red lacquer which has been decorated with floral motifs and a bird in gold. The sides have lotus plants in gold. The top has a large flowering plant with a bird flying down from the right. The hinges and handles are in metal. This is a Chinese pigskin trunk. Inside the box are many children's toys which were probably the toys of MMP's daughters.
