About this object

The tazza has a wide bowl and a short foot. Above the rim of the bowl is a silver gilt edge set with a series of semi-precious stones in cabochon. The sides of the bowl are cut with twenty long oval openings each set with silver gilt openwork studded with small cabochon stones. This work is set as to be seen on the decorated side when one looks inside the bowl. Around the bottom of the bowl is a rinceau in silver gilt also set with cabochons. The pedestal foot has on the upper part a silver gilt band with cabochons and a plain silver gilt ring foot. The pedestal of nephrite is cut with eight openings of the same shape as those on the bowl and decorated in the same way.
