About this object

A sleeveless yellow empire-style evening dress. The bodice has a diamond pattern created by yellow soutache with a tied knot at alternating intersections to create the design. The design is backed with a translucent organza. The bodice design is re-created in two bands in the skirt. The top band is five inches deep and the larger bottom band is ten inches deep. The diamond shapes at the edge of the bands are inserted into the solid silk fabric. A flat bow made of the skirt fabric is at the center back waist. The gown closes center back with a nylon zipper. The interior has two dress shields in the lining fabric, a waist tape, and two long hanging cords made of the lining fabric.
