About this object

The box is in pale pink enamel, on the outside with delicately painted scenes in full color. On the cover, a scene with figures near a bridge with a castle in the distance, a laundress at the right, and two children on the bridge. In the foreground, a woman and children with barnyard fowl, at the left, in the distance are boys fishing, etc. On the sides, a continuous landscape with boys and girls engaged in various activities, fishing, playing with a dog, etc. On the bottom, a river with a half-ruined bridge and castle. On the inside of the lid, a pavilion with round tower, a garden with a fountain and in the foreground an arch. In the interior on the bottom is a scene with a round temple in a garden, in the foreground a fountain and in the right background a lake.
