About this object

The two unsigned oval miniatures of Nicholas II and Alexandra are each set in a gold oval frame with rose cut diamonds. Above, linking the two miniatures is a lover's knot in diamonds, and below this one faceted sapphire. At bottom a rose cut diamond, with four diamonds set below it, links the two miniatures. Back is melon like. Most likely made at the time of Nicholas and Alexandra's wedding. She is wearing headpiece and jewels similar to the ones on the wedding portraits, Nicholas is depicted in colonel's uniform of His majesty's Life-Guard Hussars Regiment, the one he wore on his wedding.
