About the Job:
As the Accounting Associate at Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens you will be making a daily impact toward the mission of Hillwood. Recording cash received from our Museum Gift Shop and Admission Teams and with accurate and timely journal entries ensure Hillwood can be a place of inspiration to our 100,000 annual visitors. The Accounting Associate partners with our Grant Manager to track spending and create reports. This role also works closely with our Museum Gift Shop on inventory management.
The Accounting Associate works on a small Finance team that is located on our 24-acre campus in NW D.C. Working closely, in-person creates opportunities to assist the others on the team and keeps communication open.
About You:
You’ve been in accounting roles long enough to understand the level of detail and care that has to be put into journal entries to ensure accuracy. You have years of experience receiving and properly recording cash. You are skilled at communicating with staff to ensure forms are completed properly and include necessary backup. You take pride in error free accounting entries. You are a pro at preparing bank deposits. Your experience with MIP or other Sage software allows you to quickly create needed reports. Living in Excel allows you have accurate spreadsheets and reports for deposits. You have the willingness to receive and act upon, as well as provide, constructive feedback in the pursuit of excellence.

Essentially, those with higher salaries pay more for their medical coverage. The maximum employee contribution is $170 per biweekly payroll, most employees pay much less for medical insurance.

- Retirement Savings Plan. Hillwood matches up to 3% with a discretionary match (up to 2% or more). The Hillwood contribution is 100% vested upon reaching three years of service.
