About this object
The front of the bookends are covered with many designs in repousse. These designs include a spray of flowers, two fish, a covered jar, a pagoda, a wheel, and hatchmarks. There are three decorations carved in jade attached to the front. They all show flower arrangements in vases. The outer edge has a design in a Greek key meander pattern. The bottom has three symbols interspersed with stones.
