About this object
The vase is carved in the Ku shape which is derived from an archaic bronze. The bulging lower part has a bombe shape and on two sides are handles from which dangle rings. The part above this narrows and is marked with carved ledges. The upper part flares outward to match the lid. In the center on each side is a handle carved like a monster's head with its mouth open from which extends a handle from which dangles a hanging ring. Attached on the cover are four rings hanging from a handle, one on each side. On the top of the cover are four monsters, one in each corner. The four footed wooden base is plain.
