About this object
The oval koro is carved from pale olive jade. The body is carved all over with ribbing with a join between the ribbing of the bottom and sides. Three inverted leaves are carved to serve as feet. There are two handles, each designed as a spray of leaves with a flower from which hangs a ring. Everything is carved from a single piece of jade. The ovoid cover is carved with ribbing in successive bands topped by a button. The fitted wooden base is inset with silver wire.
