About this object

The figurine is carved in lavender jade which has parts in green. The Buddhist Bodhisattva of Mercy, Guanyin, is dressed in a flowing robe with long sleeves and a decorated neckline. Her hair is dressed in a high topknot with flowers. In her hands, to the right, she holds a jug. There are floral fruits carved around this and they grow over her dress. The wooden base is carved with water vines.
