About this object

The white jade maiden is dressed in long swirling draperies with long sleeves. She has an elaborate hairdo with flowers. She is dancing. Her left hand is in her sleeve. Her right hand holds aloft a scarf which swirls about her body front and back, some of the endings looking like flowers. On her left side hangs a scabbard. Behind her is a branch of lingzhi, or polyporus lucidus fungus. The wooden base is carved with leaf motifs.
