About this object
The Buddhist Bodhisattva of Mercy, Guanyin, is carved in green jade with touches of grey. The elaborate and beautifully carved figurine shows the maiden with an elaborate robe covered with scarves, necklaces, and other decorations. She wears an elaborate headdress and a robe with necklaces and scarves. Her right hand is raised in blessing while her left hand is held down. Her dress appears Indian and she has a third eye in the center of her forehead. She stands on a square base that is carved in the central front and back with a simple floral decoration.
