About this object
This bottle is a double or twin bottle, where the material has been carved to indicate two bottles joined at the sides. These two flat square bottles are carved from a single piece of pink tourmaline. The fronts, backs, and sides are carved with growing trees with leaves and butterflies. The stoppers are made in green jade. One is shaped like a rounded cap and the other is more spherical and is carved with a leaf. The rectangular base in ivory has six feet.
