About this object
This is a copy of a painting which MMP gave to the Naval Academy in 1967. It shows the USS Constitution in the harbor at Malta, facing to the left. It has flags over its masts, and its sails are up. The cannopn has just fired, and there is smoke coming from the deck of the ship. There are other ships in the harbor behind the Constitution, and a few small ones in front. These have people on them who wave at the larger ship. To the far left is the tower of the fortifications.
