About this object
Within an oval medallion is a bust portrait of John Paul Jones. At either side are trophies including flags, anchors, a mast, rifles and the badges of an order on each side. The rim of the portrait has a simple design of interlocking dots. Bunting is draped from the bottom. On top of the frame is a small figure wearing a military hat, and holding a nlot of lightening and a flag in the clouds. Inside the medallion is John Paul Jones in naval dress, wearing a tricorn hat with a rosette.
