About this object
A view of the gates of Moscow. These are the Vladmir gates. The gates are tall pillars with a rectangular plinth at the bottom, topped by triangular cones with crosses on top. To the left and right are low buildings with narrow windows and pointed roofs. In front of the gates are three men on horseback, approaching from the right, and to the left is a woman, sitting on the grass, with bundles next to her. The sky is full of fluffy white clouds. In the distance, between the gates, the city of Moscow can be seen. To the sides of the gates are trees and grass.
