About this object
Engraved illustration from an English newspaper, after a photograph taken in Copenhagen. Black and white, pasted on a piece of blue paper. The family is grouped in front of an archway, seen in center back. To the left is a drape or curtain, and to the right is a large plant. Alexander III is seated at the center in an elaborate chair. He faces to the right and has his young daughter on his lap. She is wearing a white dress. To the left stands a son with his arm across the back of his father's chair. He wears a sailor outfit. To the right is the Tasrina, who is seated on a stool, and has another of their children in front of her. He also wears a sailor suit. The engraving is displayed in a malachite frame (21.107).
