About this object
The Mother of God is shown half-length, turned slightly with upraised hand towards the Christ Child seated on Her left arm, his right hand raised in blessing. Both wear crowns lined in red and the folds of their garments are picked out by scratches in the gold leaf. The painting of the faces is dark and much damaged. The icon is set in a plain silver frame with a square-cut suspension hook at the top. The back is lined with red/brown velvet.
