About this object
In this miniature icon, probably part of a mineological icon for the month of February, the bearded St. Savva is clad in a warrior's armor and cloak, and holds a spear. The holy martyr St. Agafia wears a red maphorion with chrysography and holds out her right arm palm upward in a gesture of eloquence. They are painted on an olive ground against a gold leaf sky and their names are inscribed in black above their heads. A red filenka frames the icon.
