About this object
Two canonized archbishops of Voronezh are depicted in this small travelling icon. On the left stands St. Tikhon with mitre, crozier, and panagia and on the right St. Mitrophan, wearing a monk's cowl and also holding a crozier. Their initials are engraved onto the plain halo that surrounds each of their heads. Above them in a scroll of clouds is Christ Pantocrator with the orb and cross. All but the hands and faces of the saints is covered by a silver oklad on which are engraved the saints' vestments and a powerful radiance emanating from the figure of Christ. A narrow silver edge frames the icon and a silver suspension ring is attached to the top edge. The back is covered with brown velvet.
