About this object
In this small icon of the three patron saints of marriage and the family the full-length figures of St. Gurii, St. Samon, and St. Aviv face the viewer directly, their hands raised in identical gestures of blessing. Each figure follows the type described in 54.33. The figures are rather crudely painted and the board of the icon is thin and uncarved. All but the hands and faces are covered with a silver repousse oklad, with a simple geometric strapwork border set with rosettes at the corners. Each saint has a plain venets with a star shaped border and his name is engraved above his head.
