About this object
Miniature of a young woman, half-length and facing to the left with her face turned forward. She sits in a landscape with trees shown to the right and leaves shown to the left. She is wearing a large white hat with a fur band into which is tucked a plume. Her hair is powdered grey and one curl rests on her right shoulder. Her dress has a white layered frilled collar, puffed sleeves and a tight bodice. She also wears a pearl necklace under the collar from which is suspended a blue oval pendant medallion framed with pearls. Her dress has a blue sash, and she wears a dark gray dotted shawl around her shoulders. Her right hand in in a gray glove and she is holding the other glove.
