About this object

The portrait is of the Empress Elizabeth of Austria, wife of the Emperor Franz Joseph. She is seen half-length, facing forward with her head turned slightly to the right. The empress wears a decollete beige gown with a wide lace collar. Over her left shoulder hangs a red cloak trimmed with ermine. Her dark hair is parted in the center, and pulled back. The background is dark.
