This short sleeved black velvet dressing gown is open in front to expose a companion undergarment (now missing). The wide, open neckline is cut in a scallop shape and edged with black lace, also cut in a scallop shape and stiffened on outer edge with millinery wire. The scalloped edge and lace trim extends the length of the garment. A velvet belt is applied flat at waist. Short, puffed sleeves are pleated into the armhole and finished with the same black lace.
