About this object
This asymmetrical dressing gown of cream colored satin wraps around the body and closes at the left waist with a fabric loop and button. The bodice is cut on the bias with a diamond shaped, flat seam extending diagonally from underarm to waist. The neckline drapes asymmetrically in a wide cowl. The sleeves, one ending above the elbow and one below, are built on a taffeta shell covered with rows of curled ostrich feathers. A full skirt attaches flat at the natural waist and extends to a long train at back. A decorative flat bow is placed at center back.
