About this object

Sleeveless, unlined evening gown in cream colored silk crêpe. The asymmetrical, bias cut bodice has a 1/4" shoulder strap on right, and a slightly wider, 1" wide strap on left. The satin fabric drapes slightly at center front neckline, revealing a modesty panel of organza backed with antique lace. The gown is cut to a V at back. The bias cut skirt, continues to a long train. The garment closes on the left side with alternating single snaps and double hooks the length of the closure. A panel of a slightly heavier satin was inserted at left side, probably to adjust the size during a fitting.
