About this object
Sleeveless, tubular evening dress with dropped waistline. Narrow shoulder straps are smocked and conceal a small lingerie strap. Bias cut silk satin, using the reverse side of the fabric, forms a diamond shape on both front and back of the dress and is overlaid with cream colored tulle. Beginning at the waist, gathered rows of 4-1/2" wide tulle are attached to the overlay. These rows are graduated in color, beginning with one cream colored row followed by two rows each of grey, light blue and dark blue. The silk satin underskirt has two cut godets to add fullness to the skirt. The hem is weighted at each seam along the hem.
