About this object
The flared cut, three button closure and peter pan collar are typical early 20th century features of this ivory colored, silk faille child's coat. A shaped capelet with decorative embroidered and crocheted lace overlay is joined to the coat at neck under the collar. The center front and bottom of coat are embroidered with silk floss in a floral and leaf pattern. The sleeve is pleated at the cap, and ends in a self turned cuff with decorative details matching the collar and capelet. The coat is padded throughout and lined in a lightweight silk.
