About this object
Turban style American Indian headdress is created on a felt covered straw base skull cap. The cap is wrapped with striped gold silk fabric and decorated with blue faceted, round, flat shaped glass jewels. Sixteen long turkey feathers decorated the center portion on the cap with two sets of two feathers hang down on each side of the turban. The base of all feathers are embellished with copper color metal flange and red and blue round beads. Orange paint has been applied to the feathers that hang at each side.
