About this object
This simple evening dress in pale blue silk satin with a flocked velvet floral pattern is worn with a matching jacket. The dress is sleeveless with a scoop neck and full skirt attached at a high waist. Small inverted box pleats at side back are secured to the side seams from the inside with a crocheted thread in order to narrow the silhouette. The entire dress is lined with acetate. A plastic zipper at center back fastens the garment. The short jacket is constructed in a modified princess line, front and back, with a V- shaped neckline and band collar. The jacket closes at center front with three covered buttons and bound buttonholes. The jacket is lined with pale blue silk crêpe. A seperate, freehanging back-capelet is attached at shoulder seams and lined with organza. A wide band of blue and white ostrich feathers is applied flat at the hem of the capelet and at the outer edge of the short sleeves.
