About this object

High waisted, sleeveless evening dress in pale blue taffeta faille. The boned bodice has a sweetheart neckline in front and a V-shape in back. The shoulder straps are concealed by wide, shaped bands decorated with seven large pears, rhinestones, and rows of roped bugle beads. This decorative band is finished on the front with a single, flat, pleated bow. The high waist seam is embellished with the same beaded band at center front. A large bow with long, freehanging streamers is attached at the center back of the bodice. A full skirt is created from seven flared panels. The garment is fully lined with off-white acetate and closes at center back with a metal zipper.
