About this object

Gray, ankle-length dinner dress with fitted waist, V-neck, and full skirt. The garment is decorated at the shoulders with a wide zig-zag pattern and leaf motif embroidered in metal thread with gray beads in a metal setting. Free-hanging, round forms covered with small gray beads are applied in a row to the outside edge of the zig-zag pattern. The bodice and sleeve are cut in one piece with a full, inset, underarm gusset. The sleeves are long and tight fitting at the wrist. Several waist darts are used to fit the bodice. The skirt consists of eight gores and is decorated with the same embroidered and beaded motif used on the bodice. The garment has a wide grosgrain waist tape and closes at center back with a metal zipper.
