About this object

A white linen bed set consisting of a sheet, two large pillowcases, and two small pillowcases. The major design element is the Davies coat of arms in white embroidery located at the top center on all pieces. There is self appliqué in a floral and scroll design that is located above the coat of arms and continues on two sides. Between each flower applique there are two rectangular rows of drawnwork. Accents of drawnwork can also be found in the centers of the appliqued flowers. On the sheet there is an 8 1/2 inch lace cuff on the top edge with a depth of 15 inches at the two top corners. The two large pillow cases have the same design, but the depth of the lace at the corners is 8 inches and around all sides it is 5 inches. On the back enclosure there are 5 buttons on 45.679.2 and 6 on 45.679.3. The two small cases have lace that is 1 1/2 inches on the edges and 2 1/2 inches in depth at the corners. The back opening has 4 buttons that are evenly spaced along the edge. The small cases have an overall yellowed appearance.
