About this object

A cream cotton bed set consisting of a sheet and three pillow cases edged with Point de Paris bobbin lace. The lace edging has designs of flower urns and flowers with a variety of fillings. The center top of the set has an elaborate border of self applique and embroidery. At the top and bottom of the pillow cases is a design of applique swirls with drawnwork that eminate from an applique flower. In the corners are vases of flowers with grey and white embroidered flowers that have drawnwork in the center of the flowers. The opening at the back of the cases have 6 buttons running along the opening. The sheet has the same design but only at the top and part of the sides. On all pieces is an appliqued and embroidered Hutton coat of arms with the words SPIRITUS GLADIUS at the bottom of the shield.
