About this object

Two white linen pillow cases and two pillows that match the cases. The design on the pillow cases is of the Davies crest. On the smallest case the crest is designed in embroidery while on the larger case it is designed in applique with accents of embroidery. Above the crest is applique imitating a ribbon design. Within the "ribbon" areas are accents of light grey embroidery eyelets. This ribbon design runs across the top of the cases and down both sides. As the applique scrolls back and forth it is accented with small grey embroidered flowers and larger appliqued flowers. At the top of the cases are areas of a checker board drawnwork. This is also repeated at the bottom of the case. The lace edging is of white Point de Paris bobbin lace that has a pattern that emulates the ribbon pattern of the applique on the cases. Accenting the lace are snowflake designs typical of Point de Paris. Five buttons run along the opening in the back of the smallest pillow case while there are six buttons on the larger case. The two pillows are filled with fiber fill.
