About this object
A round tablecloth made of linen and lace. The border is filet lace with rounded scallops. The inner edge is plain linen. Next is a row of cartouches. The cartouches are oval, with a vertical one alternating with a horizontal one. The vertical ones contain a classical nymph with a cherub. They are made from needle lace. The horizontal ones have an urn with flowers or a seated nymph holding a bord. These are made from filet lace. Connecting the cartouches is elaborate cutwork in a scrolled and floral pattern. The very center is plain and edged with a circle of cutwork.
