About this object

Two pieces of an edging that are sewn to a burgandy silk background. These are arranged much as the auction pieces that Mrs. Post purchased. The design of these ecru edgings are of leaves and cartouches. Within the cartouche areas are Argentilla needlelace fillings which are quite rare today. One edge of the pieces is an attachment edging. One end of both edgings has been cut.
